TORTUS WORKSHOP 2025

  • January 20th-21st — $500 per person

    The workshop is from 9am-4pm both days. There will be a lunch break in the middle of the day. The workshop includes materials and light lunch.

    *please let us know of allergies/restrictions + feel free to bring your own snacks

    At the end of the two-day workshop, students can decide if they would like to keep any of the work they made. There is a flat fee of $75. This grants students access to our studio to finish trimming, bisque firing, glazing (we have a selection of 50 cone 5-6 glazes), and glaze firing.

  • Two Day Tortus workshops contain the following instructions:

    During the workshop, you will receive instruction in the following areas:

    • Clay preparation

    • Centering techniques

    • Throwing various forms

    • Trimming

    In the mornings, Eric Landon will provide an in-depth introduction to his techniques, emphasizing:

    • Maximizing the potential of the clay

    • Focusing on efficiency and precision at the wheel

    This hands-on workshop allows you to practice the techniques with direct guidance and supervision from Eric. Throughout the two days, Eric will also conduct multiple demonstrations to enhance your learning experience.

    We will focus on 5 vessel forms including a simple cylinder, at least 2 types of vases, and two bowl types.

  • Cancellations made 30 days before the workshop may receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made in under 30 days will not be eligible for a refund unless you are able to find a replacement for your spot in the workshop.
